At Thayer's Graphic & Web Design, we believe that a Web site can be both functional and attractive. If you browse the Internet, you'll see lots of sites that are pretty plain, no flair, no style, and certainly not much in the way of artistic appeal. In other words, boring. Well, we don't think a site needs to be boring in order for it to be easy for a visitor to use. Think about it this way. When you go to a Web site, what do you notice first? The actual words on the page? No, chances are that the very first thing you notice is the overall appearance. So, shouldn't that appearance capture the attention?

We at Thayer's Graphic & Web Design do not take the "cookie cutter" approach to designing sites. When we sit down with a client, we ask them what they want the site to look like and ask them to find sites on the Internet with an appearance and layout that they like. Then we take it from there, building a site that reflects their personal tastes. We do not use pre-made templates that are then "customized" with the business's name and page content. That may be a quick and easy way of getting a site up, but we feel that each client's Web site deserves to have a unique design to reflect the look and feel that they want rather than a layout that is virtually identical to hundreds of other sites. We are happy, though, to use a template that a client likes as a starting point for the design.

We do not charge monthly maintenance fees for the sites we build. If a client wishes us to make periodic changes to their site, we charge just for the actual time spent on the changes. We also offer one free session of basic training for all clients who have us build their sites so that they can make future updates themselves, saving them time and money.
